Where to stay

I would recommend the Radisson Hotel & Suites Austin, (and not just because they are helping me to afford this site.) Here’s why:

They are right in the middle of it all at the intersection of 1 st street and Congress Avenue, right on Town Lake. This means they are walking distance to everything, such as:

• Newest and hippest shopping district, just 2 blocks away.
• Downtown and Warehouse district restaurants, again just blocks away.
• Town Lake festivals, just across the river.
• Famous Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail, just out the back door.
• Prime bat-watching location, again just out the back door.
• Clubs and music venues, walking distance, or 3-minute cab ride.
• University of Texas Sporting Events, shuttle or 5-minute drive.

Plus, they’ve just remodeled the lobby and have live-music several evenings per week.

There’s a Starbuck’s and T.G.I. Friday’s inside the Radisson Hotel & Suites Austin. And you get this gorgeous view of Town Lake (or you can choose the downtown view).

And, if you are into sleeping, they have those Sleep Number beds that everyone likes so much—where you get to set your own number. The Radisson Hotel & Suites Austin also has nice sheets, and soft duvets and feather pillows (and regular ones, too, in case you are allergic.)
